We are a family

Typical of Karan Johar flick, family drama from the beginning till end. If u like family drama, u wont mind it, but it definately isnt for mass appeal.

Pluses:

  • Easily the best in all the Karan Johar series of emotional atyaachaar :D You wont feel fun, neither will u notice any of the actors smiling...in the entire stretch of the movie. :D
  • Kareena looked pretty in the movie. She was good.
  • Karan Johar finally managed to pull out emotional side of Arjun Rampal :D I bet, u wud have never seen Arjun cryin so much in his entire career. :D
  • Everybody consituting the family in "we are a family" had equal contribution, more or less shared equal screen space, well directed. :)
Minuses:

  • Kajol looked her worst in her entire career(post Bazigar era i.e ;) ). She is seen either irritated or troubled, a victim of divorce sometimes and sometimes a victim of Cancer.
  • A family is not always all bout crying all the time, Karan shud have cared bout the Indian family sentiments in such subjects :)
  • Music is horrible, such a let down from Dharma Productions.

My Rating: 3/3 (For all the rona-dhona, cudnt be better/worse than this. )
                   2.5/5 (Otherwise. :) )

Dabangg

Need not explicitly quote wat to expect, the movie is made for Salman. :) Watch a light hearted show with family n friends. A guaranteed entertainment. Promos says it all :) This flick lived upto the hype created right from the first day of its promotions :)

Pluses:

  • Need i repeat!! SALMAN KHAN :D This is easily his best ever performance, one cult of its kinds. :)
  • Second USP, "Munni Badnaam" patakha- Malaika Arora, after a long time saw some such item no., which makes audience whistle, clap and dance in the theatre.
  • Arbaaz Khan was commendable for the nature of the role he chose to play, Dabangg being his own baby. :)
  • Dialogues were the heart of the movie, Salman Khan moreoever delivering them...steals the show :)
  • Sonu Sood as the villain of the movie, deserves a round of applause as well :)
  • You are not really bothered bout the script!! Are you?? Howsoever the script doesnt disappoint you.
  • Music was definately one of the plus points of the movie.
  • All in all a complete package of entertainment, nothin disappoints you really, if u go with the right set of expectations. i.e :)

Averages:

Sonakshi Sinha didnt have much to do, but she has uncanny resemblance to Eesha Deol, you just cant help remembering Eesha Deol in her early days. :D

Minuses:

Dont really want to scar every movie with minuses, untill n unless its unbeatble something. Just enjoy the flick. :)

My Rating: 4/5

Step Up 3

All you should care about are dancing jacks. If u are expecting anything less or more out of it, then you are a loser, and not the makers of the movie :) A strong recommendation to all free style dance lovers. :)

Pluses:

  • Freaking dance moves, a distant dream in Indian Cinema. If u have a knack of free style dancing or even flavour for it, you sure will enjoy.
  • Since u know there is no choice of platform to watch such stuffs in India, so then dont miss to grab one such opportunity at least in a theatre near u :)
  • Thanks to the producer, he cared to spend some bucks to the script writer as well :D It isnt a story of a bunch of aimless dancers. :)
  • Sharni Vinson as Natalie was exceptionally commendable for her flawless dance moves.
  • A complete paisa vasool for watching a subject like this for net 2 hrs.

Minuses:

Not much of any scope for minuses, the focus never does falter from the main subject.

My Rating: 3/5 (For living upto its expectations)

Piranha

Long time having watched any such movie which is so adult(in all respect). Must watch for those who like it this way :D Though u can download n watch it, but some movies have a better effect only when watched in a theatre, else its just one another flick. Dont consider it in the "Horror" genre, u will like it or otherwise :)

Pluses:

  • The story doesnt let u down, u do not sit back the entire duration waiting for one incident to happen. It very successfully manages to glue u to ur seats, one after another incident, parellel incident, mass incident :D
  • Lots and lots of blood shed, quite a gory flick for that matter. Not for the faint hearted :)
  • I consider the above point as a plus since, this is how its meant to be :)
  • Unlike the v typical of such thrillers, where u see one incident in the v beginnin of the movie just to give u a punch of wat u can expect ahead and is totally regardless of wat follows next, the first incident in this one was well knitted, that was the base from which the movie goes forward.

Minuses:

  • Nothing really..i just enjoyed the gory and adult contents to its fullest :D
  • Thought one point to mention, the after effect!!! You will be scared gettin down in any open water reservoir next time :D

My Rating: 3/5

Lafangey Parindey

Very average movie. Lots of effort put in by all the actors, but a rather boring script pulled it down.

Pluses:
  • A big applaud for Neil Nitin Mukesh. :) He looked his best ever in the rugged feel and performed his best too.
  • Deepika Padukone was good on her part.
  • Mumbaiyaa dialogues were the essence of the movie.
  • One or two child artists were pretty good.
  • One can make out the effort put into skating by both the artists.
Minuses:
  • The script was very weak. One wudnt like to spend money in theatre to watch a tv show- "India's got talent" in the end of the day. We have much more better work to do.
  • Things that are already dramatised enough over tv, need not be put again in the form of cinema.
  • Music was so-so, absolute time pass.
My Rating: 2.5/5
