Pompeii

      Cast: Kit Harington(Milo), Emily Browning(Cassia), Kiefer Sutherland(Senator Corvus),Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje(Atticus),Jessica Lucas(Ariadne)
Director: Paul W.S. Anderson
Genre: Action,History,Romance

Its an entertaining watch, from a piece inspired from history

You may look forward to:
  • Beautiful casting of the city Pompeii..dream like but believe me, this city existed in history and still does in remains
  • The base story musnt have required too much effort to work since it is etched from the history of Pompeii, however, the writer did a good job of entertaining the audience with good deal of gladiator fights and a romantic story underneath. What makes the movie watchable is the difference in story and presentation from first half to second
  • Kit Harington, better known for TV Series than in movies, the role didnt demand any extra ordinary from stories like this, yet he delivers some good action scenes
  • Emily Browning again not a very known figure, she did well on her part
  • Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, name or family!! :) He was heroic and his part added quite a weight to the meaty action sequences :)
  • Kiefer Sutherland was our regular dictator like bad man :)
  • Jessica Lucas was a faithful servant and a good support
  • 3D was a pleasure to watch

What you can sleep over:

The roles of Pompeii City ruler and his wife. Such puny, uninteresting and weak character sketches

The dampeners you should be aware of:

These movies are typical and doesnt really create any hype for which you expect a lot and get disappointed not meeting the quality of it. No regrets! :)

The Monuments Men

Cast: George Clooney, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett,Bill Murray(Sgt. Richard Campbell),Hugh Bonneville(Donald Jeffries),Bob Balaban(Pvt. Preston Savitz),John Goodman(Sgt. Walter Garfield),Jean Dujardin(Lt. Jean Claude Clermont)
Director:George Clooney
Genre: History, War, Drama

Its a good but a slow watch! And mind you, its no Sherlock Holmes, may sound less intriguing!

PS: Highly recommended to sit with a bucket of popcorn, you will need it :)

You may look forward to:

  • The man,George Clooney :) Director as well as the senior actor :) Not that he hasnt done movies better than this, but this man cant go wrong! Love him(With or without moustaches-as someone asked me) :P
  • Matt Damon, again the roles were divided, so is attention and screen presence. He had a slight touch of the Lead hero of the movie, courtesy to the involvement of a woman in his part of the story :)
  • Cate Blanchett, ohhhh does she or doesnt she look French! :) Lovely dame :) Only lady and absolute limelight, no divided attention :)
  • Rest of the star cast along with the men mentioned above forms 'The monuments men', everybody as i said, have a bit of role respectively, knitted well!!
  • Second half of the movie is what reaps it. Most of the action and content is in the second half

What you can sleep over:

Ohh well!! The pace of the movie, you may tend to lose patience, but then hold on, since there is more to come past interval

The dampeners you should be aware of:
  • The story i believe could have been much better presented. Its not intriguing enough. A little bit of thriller in there or mystery or puzzle solving touch, would have done wonders. Its a very subtle movie. Not to the liking of all kinds of audience
  • Pretty slow, i didnt enjoy the 1st half of the movie at all
  • All the actors had divided limelight to share, it doesnt build up any personal touch with any one of them, Matt Damon for instance gets completed overshadowed, so does George Clooney himself

Highway

Cast: Randeep Hooda,Alia Bhatt
Director:Imtiaz Ali
Genre: Drama,Romance, Crime

Feel good movie. Entertaining! Watch it for the scenic beauty and Alia Bhatt!

You may look forward to:

  • Alia Bhatt, undoubtedly! I never liked this new lad on her debut. But this lad can act :) And this movie is made for her. Watch her with every meticulous expression on her face, somewhere stupid, but thats how the character is after all :) She looks small but bubbly :)
  • Randeep Hooda, we would have loved some more of him. He didnt have much to do. Was easy for him wearing almost the same expression all through the movie. But we still love him :)
  • Beautiful captures of the various facets of a highway, and amazing Himachal Pradesh, it tempts you! Big screens does the wonder :)
  • Imtiaz Ali made a nice presentation which makes this movie worth a watch. Without him, the script was pretty much lame to carry it off alone on the shoulders of the actors
  • After a long time, one movie so clean. Not a single slang, nor unnecessary sex. Though you could still say that the story demanded it, but yet it can be done without physical intimacy, and thankful to Imtiaz for giving a clean and nice watch. Fed up of obscenity

What you can sleep over:
  • A.R. Rehman's music. It doesnt make any difference anymore. Boring music, nothing special. The most irritating of them was the lulla-by
  • The script, is pretty loose. No Kidnapper is so cool and so easy going. If such can be the case, i would love to get kidnapped someday :P

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • The rest of the movie past Randeep Hooda is extremely slow and may tend to feel pretty boring. Though with patience, the content is good, but it easy to lose patience. Could have been a little fast paced
  • The entire story is more or less impractical and more of fantasy drama. Given that, the end should have been "Happy ever after" as well. Would be more appreciated. Cant digest a practical end while the rest of the movie is almost like a fairy tale

My rating: 3.5/5 (Only for a beautiful experience that it gives)

Winter's Tale

Cast: Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Russell Crowe,Jennifer Connelly(Virginia Gamely)
Director:Akiva Goldsman
Genre: Drama, Fantasy,Romance

Fantasy too weird to accept. I am not sure how different audience will conceive it, but i personally cant give it a thumbs up!

You may look forward to:

  • Colin Farrell. He is the only constant all through the movie. :) You cant ignore him
  • Jessica Brown Findlay, is the lead lady, and she is beautiful(teeth apart) :)
  • Jennifer Connelly was fine as a support

What you can sleep over:

Russell Crowe, never mind! He is negligibly creating any impact in here

The dampeners you should be aware of:
  • Cant appreciate any for the performances really. All of the actors were just passe
  • Script is overly fantasized. Its neither kiddish nor adult for perception. Its just stupid
  • The worst scene of the movie is the climax, so i dont think you have much to cherish in the rest of it :)
  • It is supposed to be a romantic story, romance was just 25% of the whole story, hardly creates any touch of love

My rating: 1.5/5

Saving Mr. Banks

Cast: Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks,Colin Farrell,Annie Rose Buckley(Ginty),Ruth Wilson(Pamela's Mother),Paul Giamatti(Ralph-Pamela's chauffeur)
Director:John Lee Hancock
Genre: Biography, History, Drama

One out of the league but a very beautiful movie. If you havent given a thought about watching this one, i strongly recommend that you should! This is what i call as a quality movie

You may look forward to:
  • Bowled over by Emma Thompson. She easily stands as appreciable a role as Caprio was appreciated for 'Wolf of Wall Street'. She portrays a pretty complicated caricature there with utter finesse and careful enactment of multiple expressions.Need i say more :)
  • Tom Hanks, stands truly to the aura of the role he was enacting. You cant get that face off your mind which stands for Mr. Walt Disney
  • The part of the story which was picked and then matched up to cover one aspect of the biography of "Mrs. Travers"( as she prefers to be called :) ) and also a part of the history which is the making of the film "Mary Poppins". Both the aspects made beautifully, inter woven one into another, running in parallel and an absolute delight to watch
  • Colin Farrell is indeed a gray figure. Irresponsible but madly in love with his daughters. A loving father undoubtedly to punch a hole forever in the mind of a child, difficult to bear
  • Annie Rose Buckley is a beautiful child and portrays the role of young 'Pamela' very graciously. She does deserve a special mention
  • John Lee Hancock makes very different kind of movies, doesnt come with a guarantee of a sure shot block buster. But this one is gonna remain in you head for long to come :)
  • There was this interesting supporting role of Paul Giamatti which again remains etched on your mind
  • Ruth Wilson, didnt have much to do, but she was there with her presence felt

What you can sleep over:

You gotto have some patience and wait for John Lee Hancock to unravel the character of a complicated old woman bit by bit. The more you know about her, the more you like her. But the key to it is patience :)

The dampeners you should be aware of:

Absolutely nothing

Robocop

Cast: Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton,Samuel L. Jackson,Abbie Cornish
Director:José Padilha
Genre: Sci-Fi, Action, Crime

Entertaining watch. You will get all the spices of a typical action flick of the sci-fi genre!

You may look forward to:
  • Joel Kinnaman, as undoubtedly the man of the movie. Partially behind the mask and partially not, he reminds you a lot to Batman when he is behind those wheels. He is prone to damage and he is  controlled by others. Yet he is heroic and keeps you glued to the screen
  • You have a script there which is mostly anarchic and completely sci-fi,eye brow raising technology but undoubtedly entertaining :)
  • Gary Oldman, our scientist, good in nature but under pressure from the big wigs to create something which he may not himself approve of. He did his job :)
  • Michael Keaton is the bad man that we have.Hungry for money and adamant at establishing his idea putting the security of human at jeopardy
  • Abbie Cornish, did a good job. She was all that she could do in her jurisdiction :)

What you can sleep over:

Samuel L. Jackson, rather aggressive for a TV host, you wonder why he keeps emphasizing on what he believes instead of being unbiased and reporting as a TV Host

The dampeners you should be aware of:

He overrides the priorities of the system he is programmed with. How!!! Never explained!

Her

Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson(Samantha),Rooney Mara(Catherine)
Director:Spike Jonze
Genre: Sci-Fi,Romance, Drama

Concept which is different but presentation that is depressing. I personally didnt like the story

You may look forward to:
  • Technical aspects. You can see not a very distant future there. How life will be inseparably connected to gadgets
  • Acting prowess, notably Joaquin Phoenix. Yes he did well to what was assigned to him. He managed to drive me depressed after the movie, pertaining to his depression in the movie :P
  • I must admit, Scarlett Johansson did a fab job. Even though she wasnt physically acting in it, her voice felt not less than the person herself. She feels no less than real. Hats off!
  • Amy Adams and Rooney Mara had short supportive role, which were good in their own stands
  • The movie has slight touch of humor here and there, keeps you going

What you can sleep over:

The pace of the movie. Its pretty slow. You may survive it if you are intrigued by it

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • This one felt on the similar lines of "Guzaarish". In short, depressing. Yes, it is true...we are all headed to a lifestyle which is lonely. Gadgets, technology are dependencies, undoubtedly and yes may be they are even replacing the regular human touch, and transforming everything online. But we are not bunch of depressed souls. There are many reasons to live fuller and on high notes, even if you live alone in a world with less real acquaintances or companions.
Presenting a story which is outright depressing in its soul of it, is just not fair. We dont want to see or know stories of some fella who doesnt enjoy life. We want to watch who can fill us with more life, make us more hopeful, help us cherish life. I strongly detest movies of this kinds
  • I couldnt really accept the weird, not very well explained end of the flick.

Gunday

Cast: Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra,Irrfan Khan
Director:Ali Abbas Zafar
Genre: Action,Crime, Drama,Romance

Watchable. Some good drama amidst cliche backdrop and some bit of styling

You may look forward to:

  • Ranveer Singh, who is the lead. This one actor has an amazing career graph. From nothing to playing lead amongst two actors. Many take a decade to get there. Yes, he every inch manages to lead the entire movie and does well. You get to see some good physique of Ranveer carried on with the similar looks as Ram Leela :)
  • We have always seen Arjun Kapoor in his angry avatar. Here is one another. :) He does well as well. Good physique here too :)
  • It was a pleasant surprise to see Priyanka Chopra having some better content in the movie, i was expecting only song sequences from her :P Though undoubtedly she looks extremely hot in one item number and beautiful in the rest of the movie
  • Irrfan Khan, his political best!
  • The songs did well on larger screens, you may not download them and listen to them otherwise. However, "Entriyaan" is a good one amongst the recent Bolly jhatkaas and matkaas
  • Script wasnt bad, i almost started wondering if a heroine in the middle of the movie will slow things down, but thankfully, it picked up the pace quite soon again. You wont be bored

What you can sleep over:

Anything and everything that looks or sounds cliche :)

The dampeners you should be aware of:

A few important but no brainer scenes, here and there

I, Frankenstein

Cast: Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski(Terra), Miranda Otto(Leonore)
Director:Stuart Beattie
Genre: Action,Fantasy,Sci-Fi

Time pass flick. If you like movies of demons and angels and half human something with action without much of the application of brains, then you wont mind sitting through it :)

You may look forward to:
  • Cinematography of its kinds. An old ancient world well hidden amidst the modern world. The dark and the light, etc etc
  • Regular action, fighting and slashing demons
  • We remember Aaron Eckhart from some big movies but never in any major role. I must say, he is capable of pulling out a lead role, however not utilized to his potential, blame it on the lousy script. But he nevertheless, did a good job :)
  • Bill Nighy was our regular demon warlord, trying to build an army of his own :)
  • Yvonne Strahovski(wonder how you pronounce that name), was fine doing her job. Nothing extraordinary though
  • One of the many angels, albeit a Queen, Miranda Otto, had a good job. She did well, changing many forms :)

The dampeners you should be aware of:

Script. Do not expect much. It may appear silly at a lot of places if not overtly silly. Sustainable

The Lego Movie

Cast: Chris Pratt(Emmet Brickowski),Will Ferrell(President Business),Elizabeth Banks(Wyldstyle/Lucy),Will Arnett(Batman),Alison Brie(Uni-Kitty),Liam Neeson(Bad Cop/Good Cop),Morgan Freeman(Vitruvius),
Director:Phil Lord, Christopher Miller
Genre: Animation,Fantasy,Action,Comedy,Family

If you have ever played with Lego, you gotta love this one :) Takes you back to your childhood days, plus the many fantasies :)

You may look forward to:

  • I am amazed by the many imaginations and creativity in animated movies these days. They are no longer foolish bunch of silly characters playing, dancing, singing all along the movie, with practically less or no script. There is a significant change in the way animated movies are now made. You will thoroughly enjoy this one, in the company of any age group
  • All the characters are super cute. And you get so many special appearances of the many super hero caricatures and those of renounced beings, the evil president, the lone common factory worker turning out to be the hero, talented masterbuilders, too many things to keep you occupied throughout
  • The story and the many mysteries with various twists and turns keeps you engaged and makes you giggle time and again :)
  • The climax of the movie was the eye catcher/mind catcher. Kick ass ending :)

What could be improvised:

The mystery behind the infinity below President's Business's building could have been mystified more, was worth the wait

What you can sleep over:

3D quality isnt any great, doesnt make much of any difference, you watch it plain or in 3D

Lone Survivor

Cast: Mark Wahlberg(Marcus Luttrell), Taylor Kitsch(Lieutenant Michael P), Emile Hirsch(Danny Dietz),Ben Foster(Matthew Axelson), Eric Bana(Lieutenant Commander Erik S. Kristensen)
Director:Peter Berg
Genre: Biography,War

This one is worth all the awards it has won and been nominated for. If you can stand slight gory content, this movie is a must watch

PS: Salute to the army who genuinely fights for the right cause and deep condolences to those who lost their lives

You may look forward to:
  • Amazing direction. We may have seen many war movies than we can remember. It takes a lot to distinguish itself from the others. Peter Berg gladly meets the expectations. Every scene so meticulously delivered. With every blast and men falling, you can feel the spiraling body and bones cracking. Be it the many oozes of blood or even mucous, yes, it is slightly gory, but that much detailing makes it worth a watch
  • You are not just watching the regular gun fires and combats between man and army, but also the many difficulties an army as trained as SEAL needs to face on the cost of their lives. This movie does touch your conscience
  • Every actor, each on of them very well acted. Be it the co ordination or be it idiocy that led to further melancholy, all of them show up, every person, no matter what is a human in the end!
  • Mark Wahlberg, playing the role of 'Marcus Luttrell', of course had an extended length of movie to himself, with more opportunity to perform. And he doesnt let the path be lost after the war, he very well carries movie forward till the end

The dampeners you should be aware of:

Nothing notably silly or overdone anywhere

Hasee toh phasee

Cast: Sidharth Malhotra, Parineeti Chopra,Adah Sharma,Manoj Joshi,Sharat Saxena,Sameer Khakhar
Director:Vinil Matthew
Genre: Romance, Comedy

If only you are not dying to check out the chemistry between the lead duo or do not have a personal favorite amongst either of them, you can safely ignore the flick

The dampeners you should be aware of:
  • Nonsense script. Absolute no brainer. Half the time you will keep wondering "ye kya ho raha hai#$SF#%$??!!!". There is no romance felt, there is no musical joy, there are no great dialogues, there are no morals. I wonder what should the audience stick to for the entire length of the movie!!
  • If this movie can be liked by audience, i will question those who rejected 'Shuddh Desi Romance'. I believe that was a much more sensible flick than this, however low on moral. Karan Johar, proves it time and again, that he is throwing hints of his departure from Bollywood very soon. Disappointing that Anurag Kahsyap is joining this bandwagon :(
  • This movie is  very very low on morals. The story raises no alarms about 'chori karna buri baat hai'. She is happily making plans of duping her own family, not once but for the second time, further more abated by our man :) Not to talk about romance :P On the similar lines of 'Shuddh Desi Romance',breaking someones wedding for a new abrupt story :P
  • Parineeti Chopra disaster. I personally find this particular movie her worst ever. With this i typecast her meant to be someone who arrives and breaks someone's wedding, in every movie of hers. Can she do any better than this? All and everything that was related to science and her, in the movie...was so random,so unclear..no one can hardly gain any benefit of by the way knowledge either, out of all that was supposed to make her a character who is intelligent. And someone please clarify me on the various eccentricities she showed as a supplement of side effect of the pills she was having in the movie!!! Plain dumb and irritating!
  • Music, well!! 'Zehnaseeb' is the only good no. and thanks to the making of the song in the movie, you dont enjoy that either. Rest of the songs were ear sores, unbearable, specially "Punjabi wedding song", what a trauma, horrible lyrics
  • Very bad editing. Songs like "shake it like Shammi" happens out of nowhere. Many such scenes are very random as well, having no head or tail and no relation to anything
  • I literally sat back and waited for the movie to end, absolutely low on quality in every respect
  • And finally the movie has no relevance to the title howsoever

What you can sleep over:

There is nothing in the movie that you can simply digest with a pill. No i cannot sleep over this movie, it was a pain watching it

You may look forward to:

  • Look out for the scenes from the trailers. Those of you who have not seen the theatrical trailers, will have some bits to enjoy. But those who have seen it already, will know there is nothing more to the movie beyond those particular lines or scenes
  • However, stupid is the character of Sidharth Malhotra, he still did a good job. I didnt mind watching him. Somewhere or the other, he still made sense out of all the eccentricity and his inability to dance :). But i would still like to know what can drive a sane man fall madly in love with a lady who is not mentally stable. Please explain!
  • Adah Sharma made it as a second fiddle to Parineeti, substantial role and she undoubtedly looked good throughout. This movie helps removing the memories of her in the evil form from '1920' :) In case you are lost where did you see her last :)
  • All the other supporting star cast did a good job, werent any spoilers at the least :)

Frozen

Cast: Kristen Bell(Anna), Idina Menzel(Elsa),Josh Gad(Olaf),Jonathan Groff(Kristoff),Santino Fontana(Hans)
Director:Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee
Genre: Animation, Adventure,Comedy,Family,Fantasy,Musical

It is a movie worth a watch. I happened to watch it pretty late but this is still running houseful in theaters. A nice light hearted, touching movie for all generations

You may look forward to:
  • This is a fun movie, most of the credit goes to the story and the way its presented/edited. The story moves on a certain pace, you never feel its too kiddish, neither do u feel its stagnant. There are not too many dialogues and the story keep progressing, and some new characters get added every now and then, not in a bundle but subtly. All in all, making it an adorable journey through the icy snowy mountains in a desperate attempt to save an almost destroyed town in the grips of untimely winter
  • Its a lot musical, there are quite many soft and soothing numbers, the best being "Let it go" by Demi Lovato. The music is just right, not to drag things beyond human acceptance of patience level :)
  • The sweetest character of the movie is 'Olaf', the cutest ever snowman i met :) He is not just funny but a real friend in need too. He isnt a made up character to keep up with the kids. Every adult will love him too :)
  • Its broadly a story of two royal sisters: Elsa and Anna. Both Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell did a great job enacting the voice
  • Jonathan Groff lend the voice for 'Kristoff', a low profile hero of our story :) Cute!!
  • Last but not the least, Santino Fontana playing 'Hans'had an interesting role. For long, it looked pretty obvious for him to be the bad man of the show. But till pretty late he keeps you deceived. Good sketch of character :)

The dampeners you should be aware of:

Absolutely nothing. Its just too cute to drill mistakes

One by two

Cast: Abhay Deol, Preeti Desai, Lillete Dubey,Rati Agnihotri,Jayant Kripalani,Darshan Jariwala,Geetika Tyagi(Radhika),Preetika Chawla(Anika),Tahir Bhasin(Mihir),Yudhishtir Urs(Jonathan),Netrapal He-Ra Singh(Bunty),Yashika Dhillon(Shishika),Diwakar Pundir(Ranjan)
Director: Devika Bhagat
Genre: Drama, Romance

Absolute waste of time. All you feel is you are watching a TV reality show on big screens

The dampeners you should be aware of:
  • This movie is very less of a typical Abhay Deol flick and more of a platform created to launch his girl friend. You will be highly disappointed if you are expecting Abhay Deol in this one. Most of the story and screen presence is that of his lady love
  • Preeti Desai, all i can say is, everyone who is brought up abroad and a wannabe actor, gets a easy try in Bollywood. How long will Indian audience keep doing with the scattered accents of various lady lads and hoping she improvises with every movie to follow. The biggest let down of the movie is her. She cant act, better than many first timers(but i bet there are many better struggling actors who dont get a chance cos of lads like these). The entire plot is on dance, and she just cant dance, and its so upright visible. I will prefer Katrina over her
  • The script is so so lame. Cliche relations and terms which are very short lived and none detailed to satisfaction. There had to be a balance in those two parallel running lives. But the entire focus remained to a stupid dance reality show. The genuine ones coming on TV are much more entertaining than this. Nonsense bullshit. And on the other hand a looser depressed 'Amit Sharma', good for nothing. And all of these to end up in nothing again. All this while you keep waiting, where the stories cross their path, but by the time it happens, the movie ends :P
  • They should have reduced the length of the movie for the sake of the audience. I mean, who can stand that torture for so long

You may look forward to:
  • The only saving grace of the movie were its supporting characters :)
  • Preetika Chawla and Tahir Bhasin. Their characters were full of life, and help bring about few laughters on the many short quips
  • The role of Netrapal He-Ra Singh, was also quite interesting. Irritating looks but yet interesting :)
  • Yashika Dhillon, was my personal favorite. She is just so typical and pretty awesome :)
  • Rest of all the supporting casts, seniors and juniors alike, were much better than the leads :)
  • A few numbers were good in terms of music of the film. They were different :) Rest of them are trash

What you can sleep over:

The entire movie :P

12 Years a Slave

Cast: Chiwetel Ejiofor,Michael Fassbender,Benedict Cumberbatch,Lupita Nyong'o(Patsey),Sarah Paulson(Mary Epps),Brad Pitt
Director: Steve McQueen
Genre: Biography, History

Absolute just nomination to Oscar. A must watch for those who accept subjects like this

You would still question if such racist behavior is completely outdone from the minds of the people worldwide even today, for considering themselves as something belonging to a race superior over others. Shameful and food for thought as well!!

PS: Be aware, it is an adult movie

You may look forward to:

  • Beginning this year, we see some really good movies coming to India. Thanks to Oscars :) After a very long time, one movie that really touches your heart. You have cumulative affect of various emotions. Aghast and shameful, filled with a load of angst. Wonder how are the Americans to date accepting this movie to be. Appreciate, to see a British film maker making it and the American audience today pushing this to be honored in film festivals. Very meticulously made. The major credits goes to the Director and the lead actor playing the role
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor, did always look promising since the time we saw him in '2012'. He is a man of many detailed expressions. I dont think, just any actor could have done justice to this flick but him. Any word to describe his flawless acting will fall short. Go out to check him yourself
  • Just as clearly visible, a director is so so important for a good make of a movie. A good lead alone is never enough without a direction. Steve McQueen proves you exactly that. He deserves a huge round of applause
  • Michael Fassbender, as ruthless as you may expect. Again another portraiture worth remembering. You cant help but to hate him
  • Benedict Cumberbatch had a short but a compassionate role
  • Lupita Nyong'o, the only female who had a significant role, and that very well depicts the one life which may feel hopelessly worthless to live. Pity the real lady gone through all that
  • Sarah Paulson, nothing significant to her role, but a clear facet where you see, a woman and the disrespect she needs to go through, regardless of her color. And of course what power does to human, a woman in turn disrespecting another woman
  • Brad Pitt, in a rather special appearance, though an impactful one. He is a sweetheart for this role :)
  • Watch the movie for the graceful and outstanding performances, presentation and the way the story is articulated and well edited to present it out of the words of a book

The dampeners you should be aware of:

I am not as good a reviewer to find faults in movies like this :)
