Heropanti

Cast: Tiger Shroff,Kriti Sanon,Prakash Raj
Director: Sabir Khan
Genre: Action, Romance

Quality of the movie isnt disappointing. If you can sleep over the malnutrition-ed facial looks of Tiger Shroff, you can enjoy him dance and act

You may look forward to:

  • Glad to write Tiger Shroff wasn't a disappointment much against my expectations. How he looks cannot be changed, but he certainly has given his 200% to the making of this character with a  funny cast name 'Bablu'. He shines as he makes those dance moves and over takes the entire screen in the song sequences. He can deliver good action scenes and decent acting skills. When the movie is all about him, his success decides the box office success of the movie
  • Kriti Sanon does a good job too. She looks absolutely stunning and beautiful in not so glamorous role otherwise. She acts smooth without any hiccups
  • Prakash Raj plays a father more than a villain. This man as well can suit a variety of roles with many gray shades. Worth appreciation!
  • Music of the movie is a plus point and so is the choreography. You don't get irritated whenever there is a forced song sequence

What you can sleep over:

The story was a roller coaster of emotional rides. From one end to another, the entire base of the story overturns by the end of it, until some point, where i am confused if i watching a movie or a TV Serial. Nevertheless, story doesn't bore you through the length of the movie, except for the last half an hour where it feels slightly dragged

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • I wonder how far can Tiger Shroff go in this industry. He looks a premature baby, difficult to be accepted in masses. His body doesn't go along with his face. Thats the only sour point of the flick
  • Sabir Khan could have added some more action in the movie instead of the added drama, could be more spicier :)

Godzilla

Cast: Aaron Taylor-Johnson,Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen
Director: Gareth Edwards
Genre: Action, Sci-Fi

Time pass flick. I expected a lot more than the regular dinosaur fight

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • The worst angle, is the new theory to the dinosaurs, here they radiate electro magnetic waves and feed on nuclear radiation. Beat that! This species is less flesh and more metallic alien entity or whatever substance of which it is made of. This theory was absolutely not digestible to me
  • What do we see in here: One angel dinosaur and two devil dinosaurs. Angel fights over the other and leaves peacefully. I desperately need a pill to digest that again. When from have these species been a protector to the human race!
  • Hardly any contribution from the human in the man to wild combats. All the same scenes repeated over and over again, same dialogues and same shit! Failure all the way through
  • All the actors were more or less wasted, we didn't need humans at all in this movie :P
  • 3D was very average, nothing great

What you can sleep over:

In order to enjoy the movie, you need to forgo all the cliche lines and scenes prevalent throughout the show

You may look forward to:

If you haven't read the dampeners yet, you may find the first half intriguing and interesting as the story tries to pick up. You still be hopeful that this is something new, and something interesting is about to happen

Brick Mansions

Cast: Paul Walker, David Belle, RZA,Catalina Denis(Lola),Ayisha Issa(Rayza)
Director: Camille Delamarre
Genre: Action, Crime

Time pass action drama. Barring a few good action scenes, rest of the movie is pretty much average

You may look forward to:
  • To me, David Belle is the man you should watch the movie for. The many amazing enjoyable scenes this movie has to offer, all caters to David Belle. Hell of run and chase sequences, absolutely breath taking
  • Paul Walker, playing the lead, in supposedly his last movie. With all due respect, he delivered pretty well to the character of the flick
  • Both the ladies in the movie, Catalina Denis and Ayisha Issa, were good in their parts. Good action in one or two scenes. But i still wonder why in the first scene was Ayisha Issa with the noodles amidst all the action :P
  • The bonding between Paul Walker and David Belle is pretty good, a better version of 'Jai' and 'Ali' from 'Dhoom' series. Wish they could make more movies together

What you can sleep over:

RZA was a character pretty much grey in shade. He wasn't as dreadful as projected, nor a good man per say. By the time the movie reaches its climax, i am confused, whether he is a drug lord, or a terrorist, or a responsible fellow citizen or just a businessman, or instead a cook... lol

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • The low on impact script, is what i see as the issue of the movie. They tried to depict the wrong doings and internal politics of Government but not presented well
  • To add to it further, the Director could do a much better job for the rest of the scenes which which didn't require the Action Director to be involved :) , but alas he didnt do much!

Son of God

Cast: Diogo Morgado, Amber Rose Revah(Mary Magdalene),Darwin Shaw(Peter), Matthew Gravelle(Saint Thomas),Greg Hicks(Pontius Pilate),Joe Wredden(Judas)
Director: Christopher Spencer
Genre: Biblical Drama

Could be the most difficult review to write without faith!
As for movie, its a slow paced biblical drama, if you have got faith, its watchable

You may look forward to:

  • Diogo Morgado was at his best in the scenes from the crucifixion process. Everywhere else it doesn't take much to enact as someone who can do miracles after miracles without any need for stunts :P I will simply say, that his role wasn't as moving as it should have been
  • All the followers of Christ, as depicted played their role as written for them, that including the rest of the supporting star cast

What you can sleep over:

The slow pace of the movie. Ensure you are not already tired while watching this, or you may end up embarrassing yourself with the snores :P

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • I don't understand a few dialogues which more or less looked like a joke, like the one of few dialogues while hanging on the cross and more
  • I guess, its down turn from the director, as the script cannot be fiddled with to a larger extent, such movies are completely in the hands of the director. This one fails to leave any significant impact on you

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Cast: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx,Dane DeHaan,Sally Field
Director: Marc Webb
Genre: Action,Adventure, Fantasy, Romance

Less engaging, and more of romance...spoilt the broth!
If you dont mind a Spidey romantic flick, you may very well watch with your kids and entire family

You may look forward to:

  • The visual effects has certainly come way better in technology from the time we first watched Spidey flying in the streets of Manhattan. The VFX's were super amazing, and the 3D only makes it better. 3D quality was pretty fine and you will absolutely love all the gymnastics Spidey has to offer :)
  • No more a Spidey, its more 'Peter Parker' in here. Undoubtedly that earned Andrew Garfield a lot of attention, he has a lot to perform, and is convincing too but he has his own drawbacks
  • Emma Stone has a much stronger and significant role in this Spidey series like never before. She looks pretty throughout and she is good, the only catch is we don't want to see so much of her :P
  • Sally Field was significantly good, we love her :)

What you can sleep over:

  • Jamie Foxx wasted. His role was reduced down to puny, lot of show and drama, and very less content
  • Dane DeHaan, wasted too. He could have done much better again, he was reduced down to a man with virtual power, that of which also he cant handle :P

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • You cant help but compare Andrew Garfield with Toby Maguire. The later was much serious an actor and absolutely no fancy unless the character demands so. This one again just like the first of its series of "The Amazing Spider Man", is a lot flamboyant, unnecessarily funny and looks more of a romantic hero with stupid gigs than a super hero
  • Alas, you will miss a lot of action, most of the action is kept for last 20 mins and they end in a fizzzz...just ends!!
  • I found the movie the least engaging, the build up was so so long, the build up continued even after interval, leaving the most awaited action scenes for only last 20 mins of this otherwise long movie
  • Romance was supposed to be just an angle of Spidey, but this angle turned the movie into entirely a romantic drama
  • Blame it on the script, Andrew Garfield could have done much better if the script was any good
  • This movie is now best fit for kids to watch than for the adults...Alas!

Tarzan

Cast:  Kellan Lutz(Tarzan),Spencer Locke(Jane)
Director: Reinhard Klooss
Genre: Animation,Family,Adventure,Romance

A cute movie, enjoyable!

You may look forward to:
  • Most of us already have an idea about who the fictional character 'Tarzan' is and what he is about. The story is spiced up with some additional scienctific discoveries and consequences to follow over a decade or so. The movie is enjoyable and fun
  • The story doesnt slow down or doesnt feel too kiddish which makes it an entertainer even for the adults
  • And thankfully not too many songs etc which mostly bores the adults

What you can sleep over:
  • Animations werent any extraordinary, there were just about fine
  • The same goes for 3D, nothing extra ordinary

The dampeners you should be aware of:

Even if it isn't any great story, it doesn't suck either. Its pleasant. Dampeners none!
