Gangs of Wasseypur

  

A must watch. However, a very dark, gore and adult flick with load of slangs. Beware.

Pluses:

• Manoj Bajpai in and as 'Sardar Khan' gave an outstanding performance.You will fall in love with this character. Multiple shades of one person. He is romantic, he is humorous, he is dark, a brutual person yet scared of his wife. A nice sketch of an element.
• Richa Chadda as 'Nagma Khatoon' and Reema Sen as 'Durga' played beautiful and very strong supporting characters.
• The movie being dark and gore is a plus point as i definitely liked the bad side of it, however i count that for minus as well over a larger audience.
• Watch it for its darkness, humor, bloodshed, adult contents and slangs as summarised above :) There is nothing more to it otherwise.

Minuses:

• I dont agree to the script. It wasnt as strong as the characters. Looks like the major focus was on introducing innumerous characters and less on the story part. You tend to loose a track of the people in the end.
• Very gore for faint hearted and Indian Audience, specially women and vegetarians :D
• Music can be ignored, some may have liked it. somehow, i never call that a quality stuff.
• The movie was stretced too far, that after a certain point of time, i was waiting to the see the climax and get done.

Rock of Ages

  

One very sexy, bold and an all time musically rock movie. A sureshot watch for music lovers of any genre.

  

Pluses:

• Tom Cruise. OMG! This man stole it from me once again. Can never fade. One major factor to watch out this flick is the character of 'Stacee Jaxx'.
• My personal favorite-Russell Brand as 'Lonny'. He played it really sexy in his own charm.
• Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough as ''Drew Boley' and 'Sherrie Christian' respectively were the so called young kiddo lovers with some child like attitude and dreams. Nevetheless, main characters and pulled it off.
• You have gotto expect the right thing from it. Its just and only about music , music and only music throughout. Expect less dialogues and most of the conversation via music.
• Embrace yourself to get scandalized out of many adult contents offered to you by Tom Cruise :)

Minuses:

• Every other character when had to be placed equally important were all greyed out in the strong screen presence of Tom Cruise. For good or for bad, the movie lost all here on its script part of it.
• I hated the end of the flick. Nothing so rock about it, very Bollywood'ish in fact :P

Ferrari ki sawaari

  

A cute watch. And not forget to mention, a family watch after like ages. :)

  

Pluses:

• That it is a family watch :P
• Sharman Joshi as 'Rusy' and Ritwik Sahore as 'Kayo' carry equal stakes for the performances, i.e a good performance. :)
• No stars, and equally important to mention no one timer castings of new faces :D Its a pleasure watching some shadowed performers doing a good job :)
• Boman Irani was at his regular best. Give him a strong , negative character or a soft role, and he plays anything and everything which such ease.
• Script is cute, but mind it, its just cute, dont try to look into logics.
• And how can i miss out on the use of Ferrari, thanks to Sachin Tendulkar for putting it up on big screen for sale :P

  

Minuses:

• I personally didnt like the item song by Vidya Balan. She aint meant for all these. What has dirty picture done to her @##%^^^^#%&
• The plot as i mentioned before, has a lot of idiocy at various places, a little more sensible stuffs could be appreciated better.

Piranha 3DD

An absolute junk stuff. Not a quality watch at all.Piranha 2 was easily better than this.People wondering whats the 3DD about, then answer lies in the caption of the poster. :D

The only thing one can vouch for i believe is the adult content in it. :P

Minuses:

• No story line, no build up.
• Short movie of about 1 hour and 15 mins with not much of any thrill to glue you to your seats.
• 3D as usual was worthless.
• Not much of gore content either.

Shanghai

A little dark political movie but all together not a bad watch. First half may feel cliche and bore but second half reaps it all.

Pluses:

• Emraan Hashmi as 'Jogi Parmar' was so so convincing as a character. This guy is a heart stealer. Absolutely loved him. Who says he cant act.
• Abhay Deol as the IAS officer 'T.A. Krishnan' was as usual good performer.
• Kalki Koechlin as 'Shalini Sahay' played her part well.
• Prasenjit Chatterjee was a pleasure to watch as a strong chracter playing the role of a political leader 'Dr. Ahmedi'.Wish we could see more of him.
• Supriya Pathak conjured up an amazingly serious character as that of a CM, very much in contrast to something so humorous to which she is always associated with.
• Storyline and presentation goes hand in hand, and buckles up by the end of the flick. Sharp climax and a few characters under the wrap unveil themselves beautifully before you see the movie ending.
• Watch it for the sheer performances of a powerhouse packed actors and an otherwise cliche but presentably good storyline.

Minuses:

• First half of the movie is quite a let down given the hype created around it.
• The characters in the movie were not artistically framed well in the first half and they seem to be littered all over.
• Music of the movie was such a let down. There is something utterly wrong with the music industry of Bollywood.

Prometheus

You will not regret watching it. Good show.

Pluses:

• Larger than life scale things were worth watching.
• However cliche is the script, it still doesnt fail to hold you on to your seats.
• Dont expect a lot of alien attacks and killings, its rather a mellowed down scale on which the flick is built.
• Noomi Rapace playing the lead character of 'Elizabeth Shaw' was amazing. Few of her shots were in fact breath taking.
• Michael Fassbender as the Robot 'David' did an awesome job as well. He is the USP of the flick.

  Minuses:

• Charlize Theron as 'Meredith Vickers' is wasted. There was nothing much in her scope to perform.
• Guy Pearce as 'Peter Weyland' is wasted literally as well.
• Other character not worth a mention.
• 3D is nothing great as usual.

Cabin in the woods

An absolute time pass flick. No quality of horror at all.But surely not boring.

Pluses:

• I absolutely loved the character of Fran Kranz as ' Marty' right from the beginning till the end.
• Kristen Connolly as ' Dana' was one of the very important characters of the movie, and her role played well.
• The movie doesnt put you bore, that probably is the only selling point.

Minuses:

• Horror element is negligeable.
• Chris Hemsworth as 'Curt' was absolutely wasted. Hated his role so much in this.
• Other characters dont even need a mention. Absolute waste.
• The script writer i think was very confused. He put all kinda masalas and tadkas in the story, he just wasnt sure on what he laid is hands on- a zombie flick or a scientific experiment or a reality show or a ritual in the end. Mannnn, insane!!
• You will be baffled and dumstruck by the time the movie ends.And it will leave you wondering on what exactly did you watch :P
