If 'Hangover' is what you are expecting, you wont be disappointed

 

Pluses:

• Looks like there were quite high expectations out of it which pulled it down by the reviewers. But if you want to enjoy some more bursts like that of 'Hangover', you surely shall have it. Contains nothing but all the whacky drunken moments, errand run arounds. No brainers but entertainer :)
• Miles Teller and Jonathan Keltzwere reminds you of the teenage days, poles apart in characteristics but yet closest of friends, hate each other but cant live without either. If not for their roles, the movie would not be possible
• Justin Chon as 'Jeff Chang', LOL....this guy needs a standalone recognition amongst the three musketeers. Has awesome American accent and the center player in the movie. Though half the time unconscious but he is the one who makes you laugh everytime. Good job done :)

 

 

Minuses:

• Agreed, this is not as par the standards of 'Hangover', but watchable
• The final scenes reminds you of multiple Bollywood flicks, mostly '3 Idiots'...soooo Indian :D I would add that as minus cos it doesnt suit the intent of the movie nor did that look any fresh
• Sarah Wright was the only female character in prominence, however she just wasnt required and her screen presence was quite irksome. Every time i wanted to shoo her away, she used to be back some where or the other
• I am sure some extra mileage to its script would have worked better to its fate in the box office. The characters were no fault, nor was the direction, all it lacked was some additional fun and a little logically done

Oz the Great and Powerful

Not very appealing. Rated quite high for that matter

Pluses:

• Its a movie for the kids, and parents may enjoy focussing on the kids
• It has all the flavors for a successful fantasy bed time story come alive. Witches ugly and beautiful, a magician, a good witch princess, dwarves, some talking animals, alive jungles, toys; or be it grand palaces and royal treasuries
• James Franco, is funny, often deceptive but stand through the movie. But i liked him more in the Spider Man series undoubedtly
• Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis were good at their end. Women are pretty important characters in fantasy stories comprising witches. They are dream like pretty and nightmare like ugly
• Michelle Williams, goes the same. Pious and a leader standing for her people

Minuses:

• Script is too very childish, the make is kiddish too. That narrows down the audience
• I perhaps wouldnt complain if the promotions were done on that standards, it very much seemed like a movie for all age group and turned out to be a let down to me
• 3D is a disappointment. Barring a few places here and there, all the visual impacts go down the hill
• I didnt see, any element of the title come true, no great and no powerful!!! The moral of the story even is very very kiddish, to be a good man and not great!! Not very convincing

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns

Just about OK, one over hyped flick

Pluses:

• Jimmy Shergill, is the only reason why the movie can survive. I so wish they had more to him than just on the wheels. But this man can still pull through with his unabashed charisma and royal diktat
• Soha Ali Khan, oozes royalty in every sense. Such is the role that suits here. Very pretty and thankfully some content as well :) Long time having seen her in a good role
• Raj Babbar was just there, nothing notably great. But since this movie has no other pluses, at least some who made it watchable should be credited, if not the least

Minuses:

• A big let down from Tigmanshu Dhulia
• Mahie Gill sucks majorly. Couldnt tolerate her screen presence for most of the duration. Overdone on her acting skills, irritating, alcoholic and a nymphomaniac. She comes out to be the lady of the movie only out of chance and not by substance
• Irfan Khan was a bad choice, needed someone a bit more younger and a bit more good looking. Irfan suits in roles which has more of punch, but he was rather a puny. Never did anything to prove his character. Credit goes to poorly written script
• Have plenty of sleep before attempting to watch its first half, extremely boring and directionless. Story keeps building up till 1 hour only to end up in a fizzz!!! "jung hogi aur ghamsaan hogi", i kept wondering till the end when did the 'Jung' happen!! :D The gangster didnt kill nor did get killed. Big words and bubble bursts. Thumbs down
• Sad that both Jimmy Shergil and Soha Ali Khan were not utilized to their potential that the role demanded. There could have been so much more to them
• Sandeep Chowta, failed to make any impact either with his music

A good watch, wont disappoint you

 

Pluses:

• I have always loved fantasy movies, the huge sets and special effects and quirky characters are a different taste all together on bigger screens. Enjoyed this flick the most out of all the weekend releases
• The leads namely Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson as 'Jack' and 'Isabelle' respectively were mesmerizing together. A good pair(farmer and princess), well played characters
• As usual the bad men bellieve they are smart until outsmarted by someone else. Stanley Tucci was funny traitor but convincing
• Ewan McGregor as Elmont and Ian McShane as King Brahmwell were good supports fitting into the script well as a loyal soldier and a responsible King respectively
• Screenplay was not overdone or didnt feel too kiddish, that helped in drawing audiences of all age group
• 3D was just about fine, nothing magnificent

Piece of crap, please avoid!

 

Pluses:

• Thankfully John Abraham was not pretending to be something or someone else. He was his usual self. Girls have something to survive at least
• Looks like the idea of the movie wasnt so bad since the ending was quite acceptable and logical. May help some hypocrites change their mind and start thinking rationally
• Thanks to the promotional number, remake of Sridevi starrer hit "na jaane", it helped drawing some crowd into the theaters, but thats about it. The song has no relevance to the movie. The song 'Saajna' was good to the ears as well. At least someone did a good job for the movie, thanks to the Music Directors
• I particularly like the bitchy boss role of Raima Sen, but she didnt have much to prove either

Minuses:

• Chitrangda Singh sucks. I will think twice now on before attempting to watch any of her movies. This time she wont make even an appearance on my pluses for hotness quotient. Tired of seeing her the same with no content. She has no screen presence even in this movie, the later actress takes away the maximum time on screen. Chintrangada is nothing but a glam doll, minus acting
• Prachi Desai sucks as well. Overboard on her unacceptable makeover, from a homely girl to a chic avataar. She cant sport it beyond music video.Thanks to the artificial makeover, she cudnt deliver her normal mode of acting either.
• And how can i miss the constume designer. Ohhhh...awwww...yiiiikess!! worst dressed was Prachi, she looked no less than a household helper. Chintrangada straight got down from the sets of Inkaar, i guess she was working part time for this one while shooting for Inkaar. All the singers/models for the campaigns etc, sucks sucks sucks
• Kudos to Kapil Sharma for screwing the whole thing royally. Nil co ordniation in the scenes. They feel so disconnected and pathetic to bear. Barely any presentation skills. We know every Indian man more or less is a Mama's boy...OK...but please make things look a tad more tolerable

The attacks of 26/11

Not a bad watch overall but less impactful

 

Pluses:

• Ram Gopal Verma tries to reiterate the entire drama of 26/11 on screen. As far as the re enactment ofthe whole situation is concerened, he fared well. You can relive the horror of that night. How cold blooded murderers can be, with absolutely no discrimation between rich and poor, women or children, caste or creed, animals or human..just blind massacre. We may not have known the fact in such detail, the visual impact was convincingly very gory and horrible
• Nana Patekar was good to the eyes after a long time on big screens
• Sanjeev Jaiswal was good as long as he was seen in action and less in words

 

Minuses:

• If not for the last half an hour, the movie would have fared well. They screwed the last half an hour, totally out of sync. Missing out on so many other important aspects of the whole reality and discoordinated sudden ending by jumping in to the hanging of 'Kasab'. They could have instead covered more ground realities and wrapped up hanging of Kasab in silent letters
• After you have watched, Zero Dark Thirty, you surely will have many tips to give to Indian film makers who make movies on similar lines. A landmark history as important as this needs more explanations and more coverage any day
• Nana Patekar, was not casted well, lacked the punch being in the authority of Joint Commissioner of police. A rather confused outlook and not much of actions taken from his end. His promotion move in career comes as surprise because of the way he was represented in the movie
• Acting sucked from Sanjeev Jaiswal. As long as he wasnt speaking, he was good :)

A Good Day to Die Hard

A regular entertainment Die Hard series. You wont be disappointed is all i would say, irrespective of how bad the reviews are outside

Pluses:

• Bruce Willis, is the man, but of course. This time with a little dash of humor and less serious with things. May be because its not John Mc Clane's task this time but his son's for a change :)He is more of a dad than an agent but no less in exceuting action sequences with his usual finesse
• Jai Courtney, we havent seen much of him before. But he does his part of the job well, apart from the fact that Jr Mc Clane is not as intelligent and smart as Sr. Mc Lane is :)
• Sebastian Koch, ohh i love bad men :) Even if they get beaten up thrashed by the end, but there is still some class about the bad men on how they confidently implement all their plans even after knowing they will fail in movies :D
• Yuliya Snigir, a hot russian and a bad woman :) Need i say more?? :D Check her out for yourself :)
• As far as action is concerned, i wasnt let down. However, i accept i kept my expectations low, but it did score well above the lines i drew. You do get to see some chasing squences, some car racings, choppers crashing, many bombs blowing, just as everything you require

Minuses:

There were some rumors about Honey Singh doing a number for this flick, couldnt find him anywhere :D
