Sherlock Homles

Absolutely loved it :) Didnt expect much though, since i didnt find the trailors to be as attractive. Nevertheless, must say, RObert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes completely rocks. I have always loved him since Iron Man. Now love him even more :D

Plot:

The devil in the movie is Lord Blackwood, who is heavily into some kinda black magic and is incessantly into human sacrifice. Sherlock Holmes is called upon to stop the murders. The duo,Sherlock with Dr Watson(Jude Law) manages to put Lord Blackwood behind bars. He is goin to be hanged to deadth, before which he makes his last wish, and that is to see Sherlock for the last time. Meanwhile there is someone else who wants to trap Sherlock and sends a lady as a messenger for a contract.A new job to find out a man missing. Sherlock smells something fishy in it, and follows her to find out more.

Meanwhile, Blackwood before prosecution, warns Sherlock that there are 3 more deadth awaiting which will change the nature of the world. A few days after Blackwood's funeral, there is a news around, that Blackwood rose from his grave. Police investigate along with Sherlock to dig out from the grave, only to raise more eyebrows. Dr. Watson meanwhile plans gettin married while the case and frenship keeps him engaged.

This follows a series of chase to solve the mystery and the many difficulties they face on the way to find the truth behind all the unsolved happenings. In one of the occassions, Sherlock is taken to the father of Blackwood, where he gets some more information, and decides to take the case on his own stride. Soon after, Blackwood murders his own father and summons the court to bring forward his plans to rule over the world with his deadly magic, and persuades the people to follow his ways and get ready to witness a complete change in the ways of nature, where the control will be in his hands.

The mystery was kept so well covered, that even Sherlock cudnt decipher it untill he himself followed the rules of black magic to an extent, where he got his more detailed clues.Thenafter continues a few further chase and escape sequences ultimately solving all the mysteries with science.

I would not like to unfold all the mysteries in my blog. It definately deserves a watch and moreover smart,witty and intelligent Sherlock speaking out to you himself is any given day more fun :)

Final Verdict:

The retro look of the movie, where u can see the London Bridge in making :) Also the more than a narrator role of Dr. Watson for Sherlock Holmes, feels amazing. Completely smitten over my Robert Downey Jr. :) A must watch for the lovers of detective stories.

Pyaar Impossible

You can ignore this flick without any doubt. Waste of time, money and effort.

Plot:
Its a story of a so called geek, for whom his second love is machine and 1st love being a girl. He he, yeah, a GEEK :D He falls in love with hotty Priyanka Chopra(Alisha Merchant) in college. Of course one thing is the director managed to promote the movie only with this angle before release. The movie is completely different from what you would expect as a story. Uday Chopra(Abhay Sharma) is always ignored, his presence is never felt by any of the happening crowd of the college. Alisha is expelled from college and the love story ends even before brewing up itself. 7 Years later, Abhay Sharma is living with this dad in Mumbai, where he is jobless, and tryin to sell his software, OS which he named as Unity and has invested 7 yrs of his labour in it. He comes across a fraud businessman, Dino Morea, who steals his software from him. Abhay unaware of this fact, tries selling his software
elsewhere, where from he gets to know that the same OS is already going to be launched in the market by a Singaporean company 'Pinnacle Software'. Now he travels to Singapore, looking out for Dino who steals it from him. Alas, he doesnt succeed but comes across the love of his life Alisha, once again. Now Alisha is working as a PR(Public relationship) manager for Pinnacle SOftware. Abhay sees another ray of hope, and tries talkin to Alisha in his first visit to her home. Here is a twist, where u see Alisha being a divorced, single mother and working. Abhay, in a confusion ends up being a nanny to her daughter.

The child actress is as annoyin as her mother in the movie. Yes, Priyanka as well as the child actor really over acted in this movie. Now the daugher is really a monster, but our abhay nanny manages to pull through. Becomes a fren of the daughter. Meanwhile Dino has already sold off Unity renaming it as 'Unified' to Pinnacle. Dino is also flirtin with Alisha and wants to date her.Alisha calls a few people to dinner at her place, and thats where Abhay gets to catch Dino. He avoids confrontin him in front of Alisha, and meets him in person later. Abhay challenges Dino to return back his software in vain. Finally,Abhay decides to balance his nanny-hood with his passion for his OS. He takes up a job in Pinnacle in a lower level being a computer mechanic. He gets an access to the server machine where this OS is installed. Now the OS is goin to be annouced to the world LIVE. This is where Abhay
has to prove himself.

On the other hand, Alisha discovers a fren in her daughters Nanny and starts spendin a lot of time with him. While Dino is tryin all his luck on the lady. One day Dino(Varun) and Abhay meet face to face with each other at Alisha's place. Varun exposes Abhay, in a negative way. Alisha loses all faith in Abhay and they part once again, only to realise later that the one guy who loved her since 7 years from college was him, and that she was a fool and a loser to let him go. In the end, she succeeds to get him back, and takes him to the launch of the software. Now he played the oldest trick, to change the password of the system, which Varun fails to crack in front of the media durin the launch. Here Alisha takes the stance and introduces Abhay, the orignial programmer of the software and he steals the rest of the show. And finally the happy reunion of a full fledged family, father, mother and daughter on the stage LIVE....he he he :D

Final Verdict:

The direction is poor. Even when the movie has so many different instances, it is not at all engrossing. You feel lousy by the interval itself. Over acting from Priyanka and the child artist makes it even more unbearable. Uday was so so. Nothing new to watch. The only thing i liked bout is the placings of the songs. The songs were fresh soundin and not at all misplaced. After a long time saw a movie where the songs were not forced in just for the
heck of it. Other than that theres nothin to hold on to.

3 Idiots

Simply an over-rated movie. Too much of hype, just not worth it. No denial to the fact, that its entertaining, but we have seen much more better from Raju Hirani as well as Aamir Khan. Festive season could be a favour Or else just a time pass flick.

Highlights:

 To begin with,you will be a lot reminded of apna Munnabhai in character Rancho(Aamir). The way he does help people in his own different ways. The director should grow out of Munnabhai now. Its only Sanjay Dutt who can suit this social worker role the best. Nobody can replace Sanjay Dutt, not even Aamir. He should understad that. As the movie begins, especially audiences who have graduated from Engg Colleges, could identify a lot. And hence, u expect a lot more of similar nostalgic scenes depicting the life of budding Engineers. But as the moves advances, what u can only see is Aamir Khan, as if the movie is made for him. Big Actors like Madhavan, Kareena and even Sharman cudnt do much, because Aamir dominated so much. Thats something i totally hated.

I was a bit late in checking out this flick this time :D So had quite lot of recommendations from friends to go and watch this flick for its balanced story. Good humour and emotions in the right places. I am sorry to say this, but i didnt really find this movie balanced at all. The humour which were created with those silly jokes which you would already have heard a lot of times over forwards and smses, can make u only smile at the max. you cant laugh at
the same jokes over and over again. And emotions were class apart. I have never seen any actor even in Karan Johar's movie cry as much as in this flick. Every alternate scene and the guys have the eyes readily filled with tears. Even the lightest of scenes are forcefully depicted as emotional.

They added as much as masala possible in the flick. So much of masala, that it no way makes any mark as a good movie. Engg College has been made a joke of. Where every other month u see guys attempting suicide. ok, i accept it happens, but not every other month. And the heights, they also show a lady delivering baby in the principal's office. And the delivery is done by our genius doc cum engg- Aamir Khan. If all these are not enough, guys please watch the scene post delivery, the significance of the famous phrase"All izz well". You just cant help but to bang your head over the sutpidity of the scene.

Okay, now comin to music, songs looked a bit forced with no meaningful context really. But isnt tat bad to the ears. I loved the get up of Madhavan as a student, but he cudnt stand much in front of our dominating charm Aamir, Sharman was almost neglected if he wudnt have committed suicide. I loved kareena as well, but alas she was wasted in the movie. Why does any big actor sign a movie sharing screen space with Aamir, is beyond my understanding.

The most shockin part is the rating it has got. A whopping 5 stars!!! :O Was the credit bought and sold, no idea. But it certainly doesnt deserve so much of accolades. This would be my first ever review, where i hardly write anythin good about a flick. Its mostly because, you would have already read all very good about this flick, and hardly any wrong except for the controvery relating to the stolen credit of the original writer of the book "Five Points Someone"- Chetan Bhagat.

I would just want you to find out for yourself, whether the movie really touches your heart as any series of Munnabhai or even Taare Zameen Par. Be it entertainment or emotions, it failed to touch my heart at least. Many of you might not agree with this particular review of mine. But wat the hell, am earning no good with my reviews. Its my opinion in the end.

Class Apart!! Wisely said "Its not a movie, its an expereience" :) Changed the face of a lot of things in cinema. Where human are aliens and the aliens are NA-VI's (thats their race). The movie is a visual treat, you gotto watch it 3D. James Cameroon did it again :)


Plot:


In AD 2154, some Americans discover a potential mine which contains hard core minerals which are very expensive and useful material on earth. They take a mission to visit the planet Pandora to mine in the minerals. To make their task easier, they send a human to their planet who is being genetically engineered to become a Navi Avatar.Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is the replacement of his dead brother who goes to Pandora in his Navi avatar. Human scientists on the other hand could control him when the Navi in Pandora sleeps. The sole purpose of sending him to Pandora was so that Jake could learn the ways of Pandora and the Navi's there and become a part of them. So that when the human invades their planet to mine and in turn destroy their home, he could persuade the Navi's out of the place peacefully and secured.

The first half of the movie is a treat to your eyes. The jungles of Pandora, the floatin mountains, the glowing flora and fauna in the night. And if thats not enough, u have the amazin creatures, the Navi's!! Amazing creation, must say. This time the aliens have so much of emotions to offer you and drastically opposite the human are harsh, self centered and cruel, in short HUMAN are IN-HUMAN :D . The larger than life size sets and animation, with 3D effect pulls you out of your world to a whole new world of Navi's and their Planet. So much so, that the aura stays for a very long time, even after the movie ends. Dont be surprised if u find yourself in Pandora in ur dreams the very day when u watch this flick. :)

Ok, i could breathe a while now, and move on to the rest half of the movie post interval. :) Here on, i must say the entire build up is hurt. The script disappoints you here. All u can hope to watch is human attack, destruction, fire, misery...repeated and old stuffs which you have seen hundred and thouands of times. Honestly, i didnt like the post interval part of it as much as the first half. All you want to see is Pandora with Navi world alone, the human inflitration just spoils the charm completely.

To wrap it up in short, finally Jake manages to save a part of the Navi race if not the entire colony. And he himself transforms into Navi for ever.

I havent given much detail of the story. It anyway isnt much about the story, its all bout Pandora. :) Watch out for yourself. It sure does stand to the hype created around it :) My rating though will be divided this time :D

Rocket Singh:Salesman of the Year

Absolute fresh come back from the Yash Raj Banners. Delightful to see some serious development in the Hindi Cinemas. You will enjoy the entire movie even if it stretches for 3 long hrs. But i also have to admit that you will be missing the the Bollywood tadka without even a single song in the movie(all are in the background). Nevertheless, Ranbir rocks!!!! :)

Plot:

This flick entirely is dedicated to the SALES. Harpreet Singh Bedi(Ranbir) is a BCOM graduate with cut throat percentage. While his friends look more worried for his career, Harpreet is the least concerned, as he knows what he is meant for. He prefers Sales, and keeps applyin till he gets one job. Another important character stands to be Harpreet's grandfather (Prem Chopra).Half of the movie till the interval is roller-coaster ride in Sales field learning process. Harpreet has lot of patience and a very positive attitude. Amidst all the sarcastic welcoming by his colleagues, he holds on to it, untill he learns there is no value of his honesty and fair ways of working. And he is abused every now and then by his bosses or his colleagues and he is completely shattered.This is where Harpreet gets his lady luck :D Not just one, but 2 of them :) one of the ladies is the receptionist.She sympathises on him, and gets him some orders. And the next lady charmin is his customer, introducin Shazahn Padamsee as Sherena.Also gradually develops from a customer to lady love later on. :) In the first meet, Singh is once again abused by the ladies, this is where Singh decides to work 'hatke' and deliver the orders personally rather than representing the company 'AYS'.

While his colleagues continues to dis respect him and make fun of him, he out of frustration takes a bold step of gradually creating his own company "Rocket Sales Corporations'. As and when he felt the need of a technician, he hires one of his colleagues as a partner in his company. Slowly, his business grows and he starts acquiring more people in his team, from the receptionist to the peon. Now more and more orders are coming his way. And they frame some basic protocols as well as services which gives them extra egde over the existing companies. But meanwhile, one or the other hurdle keeps fallin their way to success. But every time, he manages to fight through it.

The rest of the movie is his struggle to earn back his respect on his own terms. THe climax is when he finally falls apart and has to bend on his knees before the politics and ends up selling his company. But guys, the movie has no sad ending, the bouncing back has been scripted really well. Absolutely,loved the ending as well.

There is a lot more to the movie, which i would like you yourself to go and find out as this flick promises to entertain as well as absolutely fall in love with the characters. No domination at all by Ranbir, every single character has its own charm.Must watch!

Paa

Brilliant movie. Kudos to the entire team of actors. Each one of them reinvented their skills in acting. Spellbound on Big B, Abhishekh was looking very fresh after a long time and Vidya was lovely. You will definately miss your mother if staying away from home. :)

A 13 year old boy is suffering with a rare disease called Progeria. No, no need to assume the movie to be a sympathetic, sensitive one. As the child doesnt need any. His brain isnt underdeveloped, its only the body aging which accelerates fast. SO, you can expect to watch a new generation teenage kid with all the new age jokes, and naughty acts and all the tantrums. A very well balanced script. Nothin goes overboard. Out of 2 hrs and 15 mins of length, u have fun for complete 1.5 hrs, sentis are only for 30 mins max. Worth a watch and a tribute to the actor at his 60's.


Plot:
 
Abhishekh(Amol) is a new age politician(MP) who has the outlook to change the face of current politics and an urge to do some good work for the mass. He visits a school during a fest and happens to come across Auro(Amitabh) for the first time and is moved. He realises he has unintentionally created a hysteria in the media spotlightin Auro.So he makes up for it by accepting the demand of Auro for a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan.On the other hand Vidya(Vidya) learns that her son Auro got face to face with Amol who is Auro's father. The movie goes back to a brief flashack, where a college affair brims between the two and ends up in pregnancy. Amol proposes abortion for the future of respective careers, while Vidya choose to be a mother and take care of her baby on her own with the support of her very forward mother(Arundhati Nag).

Back to present date, Auro goes through ups and downs in his health due to physical weakness. Meanwhile, Vidya tells him the truth behind his father. Auro decides not to let it out for his mother's sake. He goes around with his Paa for 2 days in Delhi but never tells a word bout the truth of their relation.

Then how does Amol learn bout the relation he was never aware of? And how will a dying Auro conjure his family? This consitutes of the rest of the movie.

The plot is no extra ordinary. The movie is worth a watch for its presentation and performances. Its touching and its hilarious. Music is nothing great.A must watch is recommended though.

Kurbaan

High time, wake up!!! Movies are not meant only for entertainment. This is not a romantic movie by any standards. Its a serious and a dark movie. A sincere requests to the viwers- everyone knows it has a power packed star cast, but kindly dont expect everyone to be outstanding. Please try and understand, every character in certain plot has its limit, it cant go overboard on the script.

Watch the movie not for the actors, nor for the entertainmet. Watch it for the theme of it. All the performances were awesome and Kiron Kher was outstanding. The story doesnt lag anywhere or move off the track.A very balanced movie. Sure to leave an impact in someway or the other.


Plot:


There is a Hindu damsel(Avantika) who is a proffessor in a university of New York and has come to India for her father and meanwhile workin as a proffessor again in India. She meets Ehsaan (Saif), who also happens to be a proffessor in the same university in India. The love story starts brimming between the two. Avantika's father is reluctant for the wedding of the duo due to community differences. But Ehsaan manages to persure Avantika's dad, and they together shift to New York sacrificing his job for Avantika.

The now married couple shift to a new house in an Indian locality in New York and Ehsaan takes up a job as a proffessor in the same university as Avantika's. This is where from the problems begins. The locality in which they stay has a troop of Muslims who are planning somethin illegal and somethin really big against America. Avantika unintentionally gets involved in the matter and her life gets in danger. Now the twist in the movie is something which i would like you to go and watch out for. :)

Here from starts a series of terroist activities. Meanwhile one journalist couple is effected in the terrorist attacks. Rihanna(Diya Mirza) and Riyaaz(Vivek Oberoi). Rihanna dies in the attack and Riyaaz now is on a spree for a revenge. He takes up a private mission for this. He gets himself involved in the troop while Avantika pleads for help as she is in house arrest and is helpless to act as her father is taken care of in India.

Hereafter, the movie goes through many twists and turns. A game of trust, truth and tragedies. Every person is betrayed by the other. The hatred and the cause of it is portrayed really well. Songs are soothing in the background.

My take:

I was bound to think over the issue. In a 3 hour script, they tried covering a lot of aspects and leaves the rest for the viwers. The saga of hatred across and the wars is an endless process. I had a brief discussion with my companion on this post the movie. The more you go deeper, the more you realise the complications around the entire thing. Its never one single reason or one single notion.Its never god or religion only. Its neither money and power only. There are hundreds of small and bigger aspects in every individuals Journey which triggers the inhuman,savage nature(as he says) in a person. The end result is what we see through the media. I was touched.
