The Dark Knight Rises

Now this one surely is an over hyped flick. No where in comparison to the last one. However, no denial to the fact, its a good watch.

Pluses:
  • Christian Bale in and as 'Bruce Wayne' - The Batman, had a heroic portraiture to the movie, the one of a kinds who rises from the ashes. A true superhero.
  • Anne Hathaway as 'Selina' -The Catwoman :D was very very sexy and strong. An ever remaining hold on Batman looks like. All the men, you gotta impressive chic to check out.
  • Joseph Gordon as 'Blake' played a very important supportive character, without whom a lot of investigations would fade out.He is the face of the Gotham police and a detective :)
  • Other notably good supportive characters were namely Gary Oldman as 'Commissioner Gordon', Marion Cotillard as 'Miranda, Michael Caine as'Alfred'. All had pretty decent jobs to do.
  • The presentation as always the Christopher Nolan style, is marvellous. You gotto give it to him. The faith that he generates out of a not so blessed superhero with special powers is spellbounding. Its just the belief that the Batman is the only guy to rescue, make things happen.
  • Watch it for the big names, good action and power packed performances.

Minuses:
  • Tom Hardy as 'Blane', the villain on whom there were the maximum hopes and expectations when as compared with the Legendary character of the Joker played by Heath Ledger wasnt up to the mark. He failed to create the required amount of mental heat and tensions among audiences to the least. And the major setback was the climax when his so called strong character is reduced down to ashes with the re introduction of the hidden vamp.
  • An array of good actors were absolutely wasted such as: Morgan Freeman as 'Fox' and Cilian Murphy. Nothing much in their kitty to prove their calibre.
  • The screenplay wasnt as impressive as the its last series. I kept waiting throughout for some hidden motive to unfold, but things just kept going cliche until the climax when you have lost all the hopes.
  • I still believe it could have been a much better watch, it failed me.I dont have anything to take back home to think over after the flick. Watch and forget.

My rating: 3.5/5

Good review Arpita. This is a very brave piece of work here given by Christopher Nolan and he shows that he can pull-off a near-perfect trilogy, even if a lot of people don’t want to see him go. Hopefully, this means he’s off to doing more original pieces of work like Inception or The Prestige.

Absolute Masterpiece....I liked it more than the Last piece....Having said that its true that Bane failed to create the same force & tension as Joker did in the last Part....But over all movie sums up to a brilliant end to the trilogy....I was expecting 4 from you...:-P

Great Job .. No doubt Christian Bale has done again a fantastic job and gained the limelight which was overlooked in the Dark Knight specially. The movies hinge on him. Agree with your statement about Morgan Freeman as we all know the talent n acting skills of this guy. However, I still feel that you cannot compare Tom Hard's performance with The LEGEND Heath Ledger, as it will be totally unfair and on the top of that both the characters are very different. Coming on to the Catwoman, Anne Hathaway is a scene stealer. She is completely engrossing. Even though she does not have a huge role but a very important one. Over all this movie gives a brilliant end to the trilogy and yes we can say that "Dark Knight Rose" ;)
