Chennai Express

Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sathyaraj,Nikitin Dheer
Director: Rohit Shetty
Genre: Action, Comedy, Romance

One movie overdone in all respects. Those who have watched knows it and the others may ignore watching it!

Caution: This isnt a bollywood movie, this is a tamil movie with bollywood touch!

Pluses:
  • Deepika Padukone, undoubtedly. She is the only character who never felt artificial nor overdone. She looked very pretty, standing tall with significant role. Her accent worth appreciating
  • Nikitin Dheer looked tall, robust, perfect villain material with a good accent again, but alas like every movie he gets beaten by the end. I so wanted him to win :D
  • Beautiful locations from south India, a few tampered a bit, yet its a delight watching them on big screens

Lukewarm:
  • Shahrukh Khan, overdone! Way too exagerrated! Nothing new, nothing exciting, reminds me of his 'Duplicate' silly days! Disappointment yet again
  • Sathyaraj has less significance, yet on his part he was fine
  • Music is just about fine! Only bearable as they promoted it so much. However, one romantic number was soft and soothing to the ears!

Minuses:
  • Most of the movie shot in Tamil, i felt like killing myself. If the director wanted to retain the autheticity of Chennai, they should have worked on cutting short the overall length of the movie. Unnecessary duplication of dialogues and ohh so irritating dialogue delivery in the form of lyrical songs! Irritating irritating!
  • Non sense script, regular run and chase making no sense
  • Final fight sequence was so so filmy, i dont understand why are the villains sketched so strong when they cant justify the might later and end up showing our soft toy like heroes appearing to be the strongest amongst all!
  • Length of the movie really irritates in the second half, when you just want the entire drama to just end

My rating: 2/5
