The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Cast: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx,Dane DeHaan,Sally Field
Director: Marc Webb
Genre: Action,Adventure, Fantasy, Romance

Less engaging, and more of romance...spoilt the broth!
If you dont mind a Spidey romantic flick, you may very well watch with your kids and entire family

You may look forward to:

  • The visual effects has certainly come way better in technology from the time we first watched Spidey flying in the streets of Manhattan. The VFX's were super amazing, and the 3D only makes it better. 3D quality was pretty fine and you will absolutely love all the gymnastics Spidey has to offer :)
  • No more a Spidey, its more 'Peter Parker' in here. Undoubtedly that earned Andrew Garfield a lot of attention, he has a lot to perform, and is convincing too but he has his own drawbacks
  • Emma Stone has a much stronger and significant role in this Spidey series like never before. She looks pretty throughout and she is good, the only catch is we don't want to see so much of her :P
  • Sally Field was significantly good, we love her :)

What you can sleep over:

  • Jamie Foxx wasted. His role was reduced down to puny, lot of show and drama, and very less content
  • Dane DeHaan, wasted too. He could have done much better again, he was reduced down to a man with virtual power, that of which also he cant handle :P

The dampeners you should be aware of:

  • You cant help but compare Andrew Garfield with Toby Maguire. The later was much serious an actor and absolutely no fancy unless the character demands so. This one again just like the first of its series of "The Amazing Spider Man", is a lot flamboyant, unnecessarily funny and looks more of a romantic hero with stupid gigs than a super hero
  • Alas, you will miss a lot of action, most of the action is kept for last 20 mins and they end in a fizzzz...just ends!!
  • I found the movie the least engaging, the build up was so so long, the build up continued even after interval, leaving the most awaited action scenes for only last 20 mins of this otherwise long movie
  • Romance was supposed to be just an angle of Spidey, but this angle turned the movie into entirely a romantic drama
  • Blame it on the script, Andrew Garfield could have done much better if the script was any good
  • This movie is now best fit for kids to watch than for the adults...Alas!

My rating: 2.5/5
